Standards-based bulletin boards are a way to showcase teaching and learning in every grade level. They are used to display the standard(s), or student expectation, as written in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). In addition, a lesson description and commentary is written for each piece of work displayed. Commentary is written by the teacher and student to explain why or how the particular work meets the standard. Rubrics, artifacts such as photographs of the process, models or artistic representations of a product or experiment, charts, or graphs may be included in the display. Work examples that have met or exceeded the standard(s) will be found on the standards-based bulletin boards.
